Playing Catch.

Aunt Kirsten has diligently been teaching Mason to catch. I say diligently, meaning {twice in the month of May} ... but the two times we've seen her, she's made much more progress than I have in months.

........................................

Playing catch isn't easy.

You have to have hand-eye coordination.

You have to have persistence.

You have to have trust.

You have to have desire.

You have to know how to handle disappointment.

You have to practice and practice and practice some more.

and ... You have to know how to recognize victory {in the small things}.

.......................................

Some days you have it.

Other days you don't.

Some days the ball goes right where you want it to.

Other days it slips between even the smallest crack.

Some days your focus is right where it needs to be.

Other days your vision is blurred.

..........................................

Playing catch isn't just difficult for kids.

In fact, in my opinion, it's even harder for adults.

Maybe because they're trying to {catch} or {juggle} so many things at once.

Maybe because they have one eye on the ball and the other on themselves.

Maybe because they're blaming the {other guy} for their miss.

Maybe because if it isn't easy for them right away, they quit and move on to something they're {good} at.

Maybe because if it isn't successful the first time, they figure it's not worth their time.

............................................

I continue to learn from my boys daily.

Playing catch isn't just for them.

It's for me too.

Playing catch is about encouraging one another.

Playing catch is cheering for small victories.

Playing catch is trusting and believing.

Playing catch is faith.

Playing catch is about staying focused, even when your vision is blurred.

Playing catch isn't just about one person.

Playing catch isn't always easy.

and ...

Playing catch is more about life than we realize.

............................................

Go play some catch today and see how well you do.

My guess is, we all need a little practice.

So Long.

Hooray for the {last day} party!

I searched for treasure.

I enjoyed the swings.

I rode bikes.

I prayed.

I listened carefully.

I watched closely.

I played BINGO.

and now ... I'm movin' on up to the 4 year old room.

So long sweet little classroom.

I ♥ faces {silhouettes}

Sunsets are one of my {favorite} things!! and lucky me ... this one made an amazing silhouette.

We were waiting for the balers to come home from the field & the sky was amazing.

Click on the button below to see a whole bunch of other GREAT silhouettes!!

Climb. Jump. Slip. Slide.

This is how life has been, so it seems more than appropriate to post pictures of our super water slide making it's first appearance of the season.

Climbing.

Enjoy life at the top for a while.

Jumping & flying {high}.

Slipping.

Sliding.

Splashing into each adventure.

over and over and over again.

Anyone else on a similar adventure??

........................................................................

Ian leaves today ... on a trip of a lifetime ... for an entire week.

He hasn't left yet & we already miss him.

Life should be interesting.

love. hate.

How is it that one minute I love everything about my boys {all 3}...

and just a few minutes later ...

I'm wishing for a calm, relaxing afternoon with a nap and maybe a good book ....

full of peace & quiet?

The peace and quiet are nowhere to be found ...

and, I'm sure that

life would definitely be lacking a whole lot of fun without my {3} favorite people.

....................................................

but ... a girl can't help but wish for a little peace and quiet every once in awhile.
