The Dream Giver.

I love the idea of having a word to focus on for the year.

A word that I want to reflect me.

A word that I want to define me.

A word for me to be challenged by.

A word for others to see in and through me.

... and thanks to the inspiration of Ali ... I do.

Faithful was my word for 2007.

Time was my word for 2008.

Dream is my word for 2009.

I just finished reading The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson. {thanks mom & dad}

The caption on the back is now printed and taped to the bottom of my computer screen.
{I printed one for school too}

And in 2009 - I'm going to {embrace everything that God has lovingly planted in this heart of mine} and dream.

How about you ... do you want to {dream} too?!

The {Gator} Wars Have Begun.

Lord ~ you knew what you were doing when you gave me these 2 boys. {right?!}

2009 ~ here we come!

Mail.

I love this time of year for many, many reasons ... but ... one of the best things is receiving cards & photos of friends & family. Seriously. Wouldn't it be great to get this kind of mail all year long?! {it just makes so much more sense than bills & junk mail}

Well ~ today, my mom & I made a book to keep all the photos and cards & letters in. I used a small notebook, not much bigger than a 5x7, covered the front with paper and a simple embellishment. {I would love to be {fancy}, but time does not allow}. I then put a little leftover ribbon in the corner of the spine, punched holes in the cards, photos & letters, put a few that couldn't be punched in the inside pocket ... and it's done:

I also have some card-stock ready and waiting ... to add highlights, happenings, quotes, scripture & prayer requests for these wonderful people that we're so blessed to have in our lives.

Those pages will be added & treasured & prayed over as another year rolls by. {I can't believe it's almost 2009}

Now ... go make yourself a book too!

You'll thank yourself for it.

Handy {Mason} & the Birthday {Building} Party

Where: Doug's Wood Shop
When: Monday,December 29th
Why: Mason is 4 ... and {loves} to {FIX} stuff!
Who: Family and Friends

Doug so graciously made all the pieces for 12 tool boxes & let us use his shop for the party ... Ian got little tool sets for a GREAT price at Ace {the local hardware store} ... Bryn picked up Home Depot tool belts ... Donna etched the kids names with her wood burning tool ... Mom made delicious cupcakes ... and EVERYONE had a GREAT time!

{Photos are in no particular order ... but EVERY SINGLE ONE captures a special piece of the best birthday party I've been to all day ... in fact, probably the best one I've been to all year.}

Now if that wasn't {fun} ... I don't know what is?!

Happy {4th} birthday Mas - we all {love} you.
