These caught my interest for a while... like around 5th or 6th grade I think...
Do you remember them?
You start out reading a story and then based on what you thought would happen... or what you wanted to happen, you went to a certain page and the adventure continued, and on some of the pages, the story came to end - even though you had just gotten started.
Wouldn't it be fun to do that with life?!
Hmmm...
To have control of those questionable moments like:
There are 2 screaming children driving their mother absolutely crazy...
Does she patiently remove herself from the situation, count to 20 and then solve the problem - jump ahead 5 years
or
Does she scream at the top of her lungs to be quiet, while dialing her mother's phone number as quickly as she can? - jump ahead 4 minutes
There are times when I want to know what's in store.
I want to know the future without having to trust and believe.
I want to be in control.
But... do I really?
What fun would there be living day to day?
Would I want to continue making a difference in the lives of others?
Would I make the most of what I've been given?
Would I savor special moments?
Would I be thankful for what I have right now?
God is good.
He doesn't promise that things will always go as we have planned. (believe it or not, our plans aren't always best) choke, choke
But... the good news is:
He does make sure we are well equipped for each and every adventure - if and when we are willing to use the tools He offers.
and
He does make sure that we're not alone -if and when we take the time to invite Him along.
Trust, believe in the unseen, and know for certain that He is with you every step of the way.
That's my motto right now!

The Call
As I was uploading the video you are about to watch I couldn't help but think about the power of a phone.
A phone.
An object that defines who some of us are.
A tool used to communicate & interact.
A huge piece of the majority of our lives.
Today's phones are used to email, surf the web, text, chat, talk... and so much more.
They are alarm clocks.
They are address books.
They are appointment reminders.
They are our life.
A phone.
Can you live without it?
Can you go anywhere and leave it behind?
Do you cry at the thought of losing it?
Hmmm.
Well, I know this isn't news to you, but there was something about watching my son carry "his" little phone around and call for help... and guess what?!... I realized something...
God wants to be your phone.
He wants to a part of your life... that part you can't leave behind.
He wants to have a special holder in your purse or on your belt.
He wants to hear from you daily, hourly... each and every minute.
He wants to be a priority.
and if you let Him,
He'll be the one to answer that 911 call.
He'll help you remember the important pieces of your day.
He'll help you prioritize.
He'll be charged and ready to go at a moments notice.
and...
He doesn't charge you for going over your minutes.
He doesn't send a bill.
He doesn't have a busy signal.
He doesn't drop your call.
Try it.
Keep Him as close as you keep your phone... and see what happens.
I dare you.
