Good Intentions

How do you blog... when you haven't blogged for 2 weeks?!
2 weeks?!?! How can that be?! I don't even know where to start.
How did it happen?

  • It may have something to do with the fact I live in the middle of field after field of grass and wheat and have the best view in Eastern Oregon... but NO INTERNET!
  • It could be that the filter system is in effect at school and the Windy M is no longer accessible.
  • It probably has a lot to do with the fact that just 2 weeks ago I was living it up at the local maternity ward.... but...
  • It most likely means that life has been busy, full of activity, dominated by not one boy, but two, and smack dab in the middle of harvest!

We've been blessed with great meals, terrific visitors, a permanent papa & mor-mor, hot temperatures, another great 4th of July BBQ, amazing sunsets, and lots of laughter. Life is changing right before our very eyes - in so many, many ways.

  • Ian is becoming a partner in a Hay/Straw business and we will be moving much closer to town. This has happened so quickly, but is such an answer to prayer. Who would have thought that his business at the age of 15 would come full circle 15 years later?! Doing something on his own, having more time to do "cow" stuff in the winter, and enjoying this new adventure.
  • Mason is talking and talking and talking... most of it can be understood, but there is still a lot of "his own language" going on. He proudly rides his new John Deere Buck around the farm and when the battery goes dead he jumps on his Gator. It will be an interesting transition for him when we go from "all the room in the world" to an actual "yard"... but we are putting up a fence, and I know that the berry patch in the garden will keep him occupied.
  • I am doing very well. Feeling great, just a few pounds shy of pre-baby weight, and sleep deprived. I'm trying to sort through our things - keeping what is necessary and sending the rest to the barn for our yard sale. (I think everyone should have to go through "all" their things every 5 years... it's amazing how much "stuff" we have that just isn't necessary.... but hey, I know I'm not alone.) I have not had to attempt to go anywhere with both boys by myself yet... not really looking forward to that. Being totally blessed right now to have my parents here and my in-laws a phone call and about 20 minutes away.
  • Little Mack has been such a blessing.
He is very content... Mason wasn' t so much.
He is doing what every new baby does - eating, sleeping, pooping, and eating some more.
He isn't phased by his brother and the crazy jumping, laughing, running that continues to dominate our home.
His eyes are big and beautiful.
His mouth is precious - especially when he makes those little "o's."
His hands are huge - just like his daddy and his brother.
His feet are about full grown.
He loves to be outside and doesn't seem to mind the heat.
He's growing like a weed right before our very eyes.
    He's beautiful.

Today, I'm in Bend - enjoying the view (without boxes) and loving every minute of it!
Love the mountains.
Love that my sister just made cookie dough... just for me!
Love that Mason finally fell asleep - thanks Dad.
Love that Mack is out cold on a blanket in front of the fan.
Love that I finally got to post.

I do have some pictures, but they will have to wait - don't have them with me... bummer!

update coming soon

really.... I promise!

taking it easy

Spending an extra day at the hospital...

Our house is full of packed boxes.
Our 2 year old is being well loved by his papa, his mor-mor and his auntie Kirsten.
I asked to stay another day in a "peaceful" environment with my new son.
I've taken a nap.
I've written thank-you notes.
I've enjoyed the view from the hospital window.
I've actually "rested!"
We're taking it easy for another few hours...
and then...
it's back to reality and the chaos I love to call "our life."

Hatched!!

He's here.
He's perfect.
He's beautiful.
He's the newest addition of our family.

Mackinley Tellier (aka Mack)
June 29th
8:04 am
7 lbs 1 oz
21 inches

10 fingers.
10 toes.
A beautiful head of hair.
A chin just like his daddy.
A nose all of his own.

At 4 a.m. I woke Ian up.
He told me that he just wanted to lay there... and insisted that he still needed to sleep.
At 4:02 a.m. he realized that I was really talking to him and that I was serious.
At 4:30 a.m. we did chores on the way to the hospital.
Unbelievable... but totally the way things go around our house. Gotta love it!
At 5:00 a.m. we arrived at the hospital.
At 7 a.m. labor was intense and the pushing began.
At 8:04 a.m. I got to lift my sweet son onto my chest and welcome him to the world.

We're all doing well.
Mason loves "his" new baby.
Ian is proud to be the father of 2 boys.
I'm feeling great and am loving being cared for in a wonderful hospital with GREAT food!!

God is good!!

Update...

Despite what many of you may have heard...
I HAVE NOT had the baby!
Not that I haven't done everything under the sun to help this little guy enter this wonderful world... but he's just not ready yet... but we are getting closer!

So many things happening right now...

Packing.
Harvest.
Fishing.
Packing some more.
Waiting for this sweet baby to arrive.
Eating at Hamleys... so, so, so good!!
Packing and packing and packing.

We're moving.
We're experiencing HUGE life changes in a matter of a couple of months.
We're excited, exhausted, overwhelmed, and blessed!!

More details later - just know that we're all doing well and I WILL post as soon as our new baby arrives!!

Happy Wednesday!!

Waiting

Trying to be patient.
Knowing that I can "plan" all I want to... but it's really not in my control.
Life happens and we contintue to live and breath and move... and God is there the whole time!
Feeling so good about that right now.

Blessed by God and loving it!!

VBS is going well. Huge turn-out. Great workers. Not-so-great bubbles. Awesome music. Love watching kids worship with no inhibition or reservation!! Priceless.

Loving that mom & dad (mor-mor & papa) are here with us. So blessed & loved by their calming presence! Can't thank them enough.

Wondering when baby M will arrive. Ready... but not really ready for life to change. Will let you know when he arrives!! :)

Harvest has started. Hours are unknown. Life is anything but "routine." Praying for safety and rest as the crew begins to spend a lot of time doing what they do best.

Thankful that our pond is full of fish that a 2 year old can catch (easily)!!
