November 7, 2010
the 4th, 5th, and 6th of November.
November 4, 2010
- an amazing sunrise.
- a computer that brings life to my fingers and eyes.
- stray cows found.
- mail from Nebraska.
- new sights on an old familiar route.
- a rocky ledge and a beautiful family.
- the right words and the right friends.
- grocery shopping by myself and sincere conversations in the check out line.
- speed dial.
- Joe B. and his patient understanding of technology and its power in the classroom.
- sarcasm.
……………………………………………….
Today was an average day in the life of me.
Not too much excitement.
A lot of learning.
A little frustration.
A bit of anxiety.
Emotions on my sleeve.
A lot of interaction with people in my life.

- Kleenex – what would life be like without it? I hope I never have to know.
- the smell of brownies baking.
- “understanding” on so many different levels.
- Starbucks goodness – hand delivered with love.
- soup and bread day – and my favorite desserts!
- my old teaching partner and 2 great hours together.
- a 5 year old feed truck driver.
- spreadsheets that bring “order” to the chaos.
- tears.
- co-workers that cheer, cry, push forward and live through the trenches with me.
- turkeys, paper pumpkins , a little glue and a bit of paint = happy first graders.
- an extra 2 hours.
- prayers over the phone ... and a mother in law who loves me & "gets" me.
- a sunset I’ll never forget.
- Chinese food and all the leftovers too.
- fortune cookies.
- Toy Story 3.
- Isaiah 30:18 – a verse to claim for yourself daily.
………………………
Isaiah 30:18
But God is not finished. He is waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right – everything. Those who wait around for Him are the lucky ones. - the Message
……………………….
An attitude of gratitude.
It’s life changing.
It’s mind altering.
It’s God at work.
November 6, 2010
- a day to sleep in until 6:00 – is that really sleeping in?!
- old jeans that still fit and a long-sleeve T-shirt.
- quiet time.
- train whistles reminding me that I’m “home.”
- a boy that smells everything before he eats it.
- Toy Story 3 … again.
- the ability to reflect, change and move forward – all because of the grace God offers.
- Papa’s pancakes.
- spurs that jingle jangle- even if they do drive me crazy.
- Thanksgiving – a few weeks early.
- the smell of Thanksgiving – a few weeks early.
- inspiration in a variety of forms.
- warmth from the afternoon sun.
- games, coloring books, and Crayola.
- a family that defines beautiful – inside and out.
- cousins.
- shovels, rakes, tractors and dirt … life doesn’t get much better.
- a hayride.
- hiking to the “cliff” on our property and taking time to enjoy the view.
- a kitchen filled to the brim with the sounds, smells & sights of fall.
- getting to eat while everything is still hot.
- pumpkin pie.
- rest in knowing that God loves me - and the comfort it is knowing that even when things aren't perfect ... they're exactly the way they're supposed to be.

We've also been enjoying Toy Story 3 at our house. All four of us watched it together tonight.
Have a fantastic week!
Thankful for our visit tonight! Thank you for being the kind of friends we can just drop in on and know we are welcome! Praying that the things that need to get done get done and that the rest that is needed comes your way! Love you muchly!!
Sounds like you had a great time with your family... Nice to have that support, I'm sure!
In the midst of life's ups & downs, I can so clearly see God's blessings upon you...and smiling that he gave you a weekend filled with time to reflect, rejuvenate, and soak in all His Sweet blessings! Happy Monday sweet girl!!! May it be the beginning of a GREAT new week! Sweet blessings!

Linds... that verse brought tears to my eyes. Just what I needed. Love you!
My favorite - "A boy who smells everything before eating it" - smiling!
Crying really is the best thing sometimes...Practice makes perfect, right?
And thanks for the verse - it's getting taped to my desk!
